Coach Clay’s Corner is brought to you by:

By Andrew ‘Drew’ Tri – Managing Editor, PullUSA Magazine/Media Network

It doesn’t seem like it, but it was ten years ago that I took what would be the first cover photo for the inaugural issue of PullUSA.

It was a cloudy morning and a bit chilly for Minnesota in June, and we had rounded up as many students as we could around Jim Sable, the founder and first President of the USA Clay Target League. As I stood precariously high on a step ladder and directed the crowd to say ‘cheese’ and ‘clay target’ and ‘trapshooting’ while snapping photo after photo, I had no idea how much fun it would be to help publish a new magazine focused on the League’s efforts to bring youth clay target shooting sports to schools across America.

As the Managing Editor for PullUSA Magazine for the last ten years, I’ve had the very fun job of watching and overseeing each issue come together. Now, on the ten-year anniversary of PullUSA, I’m excited to let our readers know that PullUSA is becoming something more. PullUSA is turning into something that we couldn’t even envision ten years ago.

This issue you’re holding is the very last printed issue of PullUSA Magazine, but it’s also the very first step in the evolution of PullUSA the print magazine into PullUSA the digital media network, with more resources, more coverage, and more opportunities for more clay target shooting sports enthusiasts to get in on the action.

More Responsive

Today’s media doesn’t run on 3 month cycles. The landscape has changed considerably, and today’s clay target audience is more mobile, more informed, and more interactive than ever.  With that in mind, the new PullUSA Media Network will be able to provide our audience the news and information they want, when they want it.

More athletes, More schools, More Ranges

There are tens of thousands of athletes in the League, over two thousand schools, and nearly as many shooting ranges. The new PullUSA Media Network will be able to cover three times more athletes each year along with coverage of more schools, more shooting ranges, more featured interviews, and more colleges!

More Audiences

There are more than 19 million clay target shooting sport enthusiasts in the country want to learn more about the amazing stories and achievements by athletes and teams. That’s why PullUSA Media Network is offering free subscriptions to anyone who is interested in learning more by simnply visiting our website to sign up.

More Tips, More Gear.

PullUSA is already working with partners to get you the latest news on the latest gear, with plans for more in-depth reviews and information on the newest equipment and accessories for all League shooting disciplines!

In addition to gear, you’re going to love our next round of coach tips with our new mascot, Coach Clay!  We’ll be revisiting older articles with Coach Clay, and expanding our library of informative articles about shooting skills, and the equipment, technology, and rules that encompass the League’s shooting sports offerings!

More Availability, 24/7 Article Access

Previously, finding your favorite PullUSA article or story required searching through stacks of back-issues. Moving forward, nearly all PullUSA content will eventually be available online on the newly-revamped PullUSA website!

Fresh content will be published on pullusa.usaclaytarget.com weekly, and shared across PullUSA AND USA Clay Target League social channels. We’re also introducing the monthly PullUSA Newsletter, which will feature the newest articles, tips, and news from the League along with special offers and opportunities from League supporters and sponsors!

Thank You

As the League marks the 10-year anniversary of PullUSA Magazine, I couldn’t be more thankful for the expertise of our publishing team from NordStar Media Group as they’ve continued to put out fantastic interviews, guides, and features from athletes, teams, schools, and ranges from across the country.

I also want to extend a tremendous “Thank You!” to the athletes, families, teams, and shooting ranges that have graciously shared their stories and experiences with PullUSA’s team of writers. Thank You to the hundreds of thousands of readers that have held PullUSA Magazine in their hands. Thank You to the coaches and shooting ranges that have cut out and taped PullUSA articles to walls and bulletin boards across the country.

And finally, I want to invite all of you to join the League and PullUSA Media Network as we work to continue leading the way in bringing youth clay target shooting sports to as many people as possible.
